Sunrises late in the morning

A late sunrise over The Remarkables, Queenstown NZ

I've been fortunate enough to be able to snag a few morning sessions at Coronet Peak ski field in Queenstown this week. If I'm going to go snowboarding, I like to get up early so I can find a good park and get into it. This way, I've found that I can then can get back down and really do something with the rest of the day.

I've been astounded by some of the sunrises I've seen recently. None of them have been typically amazing, you've had to focus upon the smaller parts. There are so many localised weather systems around the Wakatipu Basin, so when you are so high up the vantage points you get looking across the basin are incredible, showing you so many different vistas.

I usually look forward to the shortest day, so I know that the days will be getting longer again giving us more time to play in the outdoors. With the quality of sunrises we've had at such an amenable time, it's the first time I've ever wanted to keep these late morning sunrises quite so much.
